DFW Tree Guys grinds stumps throughout Fort Worth and the Dallas–Fort Worth area, whether we removed the tree or somebody else left the stump behind a decade ago.
Grinding beats digging in almost every residential case: it's faster, cheaper, and doesn't excavate a crater in your yard. Our grinder chews the stump and the major surface roots down below grade — deep enough to re-sod, replant beds, or set a new tree nearby. The grindings can backfill the hole, or we can haul them off and leave the spot ready for clean soil.

Frequently Asked Questions
How deep do you grind a stump?
Standard depth runs several inches below grade — plenty for grass or garden beds. Planting a new tree in or near the same spot? Tell us and we'll grind deeper and clear more of the root mass.
What happens to the wood chips?
Your choice. They make decent mulch and free backfill, or we haul them off so you can bring in clean soil for sod or seed.
Will the stump grow back after grinding?
No — grinding below grade destroys the growth point. Suckers from leftover lateral roots occasionally pop up on a few stubborn species, and those are easily managed.
Can you get a grinder into my backyard?
Almost always. Our equipment fits through standard gates, and we'll confirm access when we quote. Truly landlocked stumps have options too — ask.
Do you grind stumps you didn't cut?
All the time. Old stumps from previous owners, storm breaks, other companies' unfinished jobs — if it's a stump in DFW, we'll grind it.
